Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten 70 runs & 2 wickets in 1st innings and 5 wickets in second innings helps India won the series in Srilanka on the 4th day of Second test. India won by innings and 53 runs in second test and take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Now India has a chance to clean sweep by winning a last third test which will be on Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele.
India won the first test match by big margin. They beat Srilanka by 304 runs. Sikhar Dhawan was awarded Man of the match for the best performance. He made 190 runs in the first innings.
And in Second test match, India won the toss and decided to bat first. Lokesh Rahul was back in the team in replace of Abinav mukund. Again Sikhar dhawan played his natural game and gave good start to team India. After dismissals of Shikar Dhawan who made 35 runs, Lokesh rahul (57 runs), Virat Kohli(13 runs), Rahane and Pujara created historic 217 runs partnership. They both made a century and after some time Rahane got out on 132 run and Cheteshwar pujara got out on 133 runs.
Ravichandran Ashwin made a 54 runs and Wriddhiman Saha made a useful 67 runs. And then Ravindra Jadeja shows us that he is not only good with his bowl but he can make runs on the board as well. With the help of Ravindra Jadeja’s 70 runs, India set a big score 622 in the First innings with the loss of 9 wickets. From the Srilanka side, Rangana Herath was the star player in the first inning who took 4 wickets.
Srilanka started their first innings and got out on 183 runs in the first inning. Ravichandran Ashwin has taken 5 wickets and Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami took 2 wickets.
Srilanka was still behind the 439 runs. Srilanka again started their second innings and this time they fought like a champion in the beginning. Their two players Dimuth Karunaratne(141 runs) and Kusal Mendis(110 runs) made a century. After dismissals of these two players, Srilanka all out on 386 runs. And India won by innings and 53 runs & take a lead by 2-0 in the series.
Now the Third final test will be start from 12th August on Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele.
